ACM-W’s First Chapter Meeting | Fall 2020

The ACM-W chapter at Earlham College, led by Pyone Thant Win ’21 and Kate Nguyen ’21, held its first official meeting for Fall 2020 on October 4. The meeting was held in a spacious classroom, with members sitting 6-feet apart from one other. Despite the challenge of social distancing, the members were able to get to know each other and discuss hopes and aspirations for the chapter’s activity this semester. The members were also able to share resources, conferences, and scholarship opportunities for freshmen and sophomore women in computing, while the upperclassmen shared information on graduate schools and fellowship opportunities. The ACM-W chapter at Earlham has at least one activity planned for every month with active contribution from its members. This active, supportive group of women in computing is a community to look out for this year.
