About WebDB
What is WebDB? It is Earlham's Homegrown solution for excessive paperwork. Originally conceived in 1996 by the DBA Group, a joint work-study group between ECS and the CS Department, WebDB was the product of many discussions about the excess amount of time, money, and work that was involved in much of the administrative activities of the college (mainly centering about course registration, grades, and other such student information). Moving beyond it's roots, WebDB has evolved from a simple registering tool to a product on which the college relies. Some of the services that it provides include the ability to look at available courses, retrieve contact information for those involved with the college, and to grant access to documents that only the Earlham community need see.
As WebDB is completely created by students and faculty of Earlham College, it's design and implementation are oriented towards the Earlham person. Thus suggestions that the WebDB Administrators don't get, will likely not be implemented. If you have any ideas, suggestions, or requests that you think would be beneficial for all users of WebDB, please contact us. Additionally, feel free to contact us if you have functionality problems with WebDB.
