Welcome to the course homepage for the senior seminar of the Computer Science Department at Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana.

The seminar for the 1997-1998 academic year is in Robotics, using Fred G. Martin's Handy Board from MIT. It is planned that the seminar will continue over the next few years, improving and building upon itself.

During this semester, students assembled 5 working robots from Fred Martin's design, and programmed and developed them to perform basic "robot tasks" such as wall detection and light following. The semester is culminating to the final project, in which the robots will simulate the behavior and problem space of a beehive.

This site contains information pertaining to the history of the seminar, the process of planning and implementing the final project, and various photos and links realted to the class. Any questions or comments about the class can be sent to cs80@cs.earlham.edu.
