Here are several quick tips for figuring out which file to download:
1) First of all, is your computer a PowerPC or 68k? If you have any type of iMac, iBook, G3, or G4, you have a PowerPC. If you have one of the older machines, you can find out by looking at your computer's model number. If it has 3 digits (e.g. PowerBook 190) it is a 68k. If it has 4 digits (e.g. PowerMac 6500) it is a PowerPC.
2) If you have a PowerPC, you need to decide between Classic and Carbon. If you're running Mac OS 9 or any of its predecessors (Mac OS 8, System 7, etc.), download the Classic version. If you're using Mac OS X, the latest version of the Mac OS from Apple, download the Carbon version.
3) In most cases, you will want to download the file in MacBinary format, because it is smaller and will take less time. We suggest you try MacBinary first, and if you are unable to open it, download it again in BinHex format.
4) Please note that you will also need Stuffit Expander to decompress these files, which may be downloaded for free from Aladdin Systems.
