I'm the one with the flashlight. The beach is the Canaveral National Seashore in Florida. The turtle is a leatherback, one of about eight that nested there that year (along with a few thousand loggerhead and a few hundred greens). (Which is why we broke protocol and took pictures after she had finished covering her nest.)
(She's not a very big leatherback.)
