Slavko Janevski (Skopje, 1920) is one of the most productive
macedonian authors. He writes poetry, short stories, plays, novels, and
film scenarios. He is the author of the first macedonian novel Selo
zad sedumte jaseni. Some of his more famous collections of poetry
include Krvava niza, Egejska barutna bajka, Evangelieto po Itar Pejo,
Leb i kamen, Lirika, Pesni, and others. He has published the collection of short stories Klovnovi i luge, the novels Dve Marii, Mesecar, I bol i bes, Tvrdoglavi, and others. Slavko Janevski now lives and works in Skopje. He is a member of the Macedonian Academy of the Arts and Sciences (MANU)
