Course Rules and Expectations

We only have three rules we expect everyone to adhere to...

  • Crew Not Passengers

We are all crew and not passengers. That means that today is not a spectator sport and you can't stand on the sidelines. Everyone is expected to participate to the level of their ability. You are NOT expected to do things against your will. But we DO encourage you to push yourself and stretch your comfort zone. Only YOU know that line between just enough and too much. Communicate with us and we'll help you find other ways to participate.

  • Speak With Good Purpose

Out here, we have learned that positive language helps both individuals and teams do their best. So, please avoid put-downs or sarcastic comments, profanity, or other types of negative communication. We call those "zingers" and we have a "no zingers rule" on the ropes course.

  • Safety First

There will be times today when your teammates safety will be in your hands. It is very important that you listen carefully to your facilitators and follow proper procedures. We cannot have fun and learn together if we are not, first and foremost, safe. That means both physical safety and emotional safety. Good crewmates take care of each other and watch out for one another.

Name Game/Warm-Up/Ice-beakers

Move into a name game and/or other ice-breaker warm-up with your group.
