Personal Gear List
Note:
- Bring some spending money,for resturants on the road, and while in Acadia(50$) is sufficent but it is up to personal preference. Money can be left with extra gear in the van which will be locked and waiting for the group in Baxter.
Leg 1: Overnight Hiking on Appalachian Trail
Sleeping Gear:
- sleeping bag
- sleeping pad
Random:
- bathingsuit
- food untensils
- jack knife
- hanckershief
- water bottle non breakable
- headlamp(usuful not necesary)
- bandana
- Toiletries (toothbrush, medications,feminine products)
- hiking backpack-external or internal frame
Upper body:
- outerlayer top: protection from rain/wind
Lower body:
- outerlayer pants: no jeans/ fleece or wind restistance
- socks wool/arcylic NOT COTTON 2-3pairs
- hiking boots high toped
Leg 2: Acadia
Besides the above items below is extra gear which can stay in the van which will be waiting for us at Baxter State Park.
- light day pack
- sneakers for day hikes
- towel
- change clothes/cotton is allowed!
- sandals unless you have tough feet or dont mind getting sneakers wet(beach/rocky coast climbing)
Leg 3: Sailing Some gear we will leave with the van (hiking gear not needed for sailing)
- whistel
- rain coat
- fleece/wool top(warm top layer)
- sandals or sneakers(boat shoes)
- lotion
- capstick
Sun Protection: Depending on your personal preference, not mandatory till the sailing leg of trip becuase the sun is not that strong in Maine during the month of May.
- sunglasses
- hat to keep out sun
- sun lotion SPF15+ depending on skin
