AW Slideshow
From WildWiki
The purpose for putting on the slideshow is to give parents, community members, and other students a chance to see what you did on summer wilderness. The slideshow is usually VERY WELL ATTENDED so we cannot emphasize enough the importance of doing a good job by being well prepared and organized in terms of what you are presenting. We have seem really good slideshows and some really bad ones... Putting on a good show reflects well on your course, your instructors, and the program as a whole. Take pride in your accomplishments by putting some work into it!
Here are some tips for planning a successful slideshow.
1. Get each course (AW Water, Mtn, and June) together for a little reunion (we can provide some funds for pizza) and talk about the show, its purpose, and basic slideshow outline.
2. Form a planning committee. It is a lot easier to delegate out tasks to a few people than try to plan something with 20+ people. A group of 2-4 folks from each course (AW Water; AW Mtn; and June) should get together and plan their particular program (see slidehow outline). Each course will have approximately 20 minutes for their show.
3. Put the word out to all participants to send in their best photos.
4. Have one person (technologically competent!) put together all the photos on to one computer and then burn that slideshow with music on to a disk.
5. Double and triple check that you have figured out all the technological issues NO LATER THAN THE FRIDAY BEFORE your show so you have time to figure out alternative plans before the weekend (when there will be no one on campus to assist you).
6. Arrive at least 30-45 minutes early to your slideshow site to ensure you have ample time to connect equipment and coordinate with other courses, etc.
