hey.
welcome to my footprint on the web. this site is a static, nonupdated presence I maintain on my personal webspace at Earlham college, where I'm currently a computer science major. this site will also serve as a testbed for various nifty web stuff that I'm learning and connect centrally some of my web2.0 action, like my blog (atomic shuffle), flickr, and del.icio.us accounts.
some background
I grew up in a rural part of new york state and became
interested in computers at a young age after playing king's
quest 4 on our quality 1988 MSDOS computer. my interest stayed limited to the couple of games we had in the house and a lovely old version of works until I first experienced the interwebs for free at our local library. this was a love interest that would perpetuate to this day, and would combine itself with a love of programming that sprouted during Java classes offered in my high school. now I'm a linux devotee, a php/c++/python/AJAX/perl programmer, decent web designer, and student (in school and out). I do and have done a fair amount of other stuff, but it doesn't pertain to this webspace.
Currently I'm teaching myself Haskell, immersing myself in Hermann Hesse, and doing an internship at IBM Poughkeepsie. During the school year I do work study programming for both the DBI group in Earlham Computing Services and Richmond's Public Radio, WECI.
